Born in the serene village of Gundbal Mohdpora in Kulgam, Kashmir, my journey has been shaped by intellect, literature, service, and an unwavering engagement with society. From the quiet landscapes of my homeland emerged a voice that sought not only to understand the world, but to interpret its silences, contradictions, and transformations. My name is Shahid Fayaz, and my life has been a continuous dialogue between thought and action.
My academic path reflects a profound commitment to knowledge and expression. I pursued my higher education at St Andrews in the United Kingdom, an institution that refined my intellectual sensibilities and broadened my global perspective. My academic achievements include a Master’s degree in English Literature and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication, disciplines that deepened both my literary imagination and my understanding of media, public discourse, and social narratives. My dedication to scholarship earned me a Gold Medal in Literature, a recognition that remains one of the proud milestones of my academic life.
Writing has been the most intimate and enduring expression of my inner world. As a bestselling author, I have sought to challenge conventions, provoke thought, and illuminate hidden truths through my books. My literary works include The Geography of Silence, Howdy Nietzsche, Army vs Bureaucracy, The Silence Where God Thinks, and Aligarh Under Question.
